She may have already boldly gone where no man has gone before, but there are still some universes that STAR TREK star Zoe Saldana needs to explore. One of those universes is that of Marvel and their upcoming sci-fi romp GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Saldana is up for the part of Gamora, the female member of the guardians and the last of her species. She’s also the adopted daughter of Thanos, the villain that made an appearance at the end of THE AVENGERS. Not only has Saldana had experience with exploring the galaxy, she also knows what it’s like portraying a member of an alien race, due to her work in AVATAR. Saldana is currently only in talks to take on the role, but with STAR TREK 3 with no release date, and AVATAR 2 scheduled for 2015, it seems as though Saldana may be able to squeeze one more space epic in.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is released 1st August 2014. It is directed by James Gunn and stars Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista.
