We’ve received an announcement for the Horror Channel’s impressive spring season film line up, which includes the UK premiere of Stevan Mena’s prequel to his cult slasher hit, MALEVOLENCE. BEREAVEMENT is led by TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D beauty, Alexandra Daddario and THE TERMINATOR’s Michael Biehn, and charts how a young Martin Bristol was turned into the protege of serial-killer, Graham Sutter (Brent Rickaby) from such a young age. Being a huge fan of Mena’s 2003 slasher, I can safely say BEREAVEMENT has the same chilling and intense tone as his directorial debut.
Check out the other upcoming genre offerings in the press release below.
HORROR CHANNEL ANNOUNCES CHILLING UK TELEVISION MOVIE PREMIERES FOR SPRING SEASON
The next quarter promises to be a bumper one for horror fans as Horror Channel presents six UK TV premieres for March, April and May, with plans for a further clutch of marquee titles for summer and autumn seasons.
April sees the UK TV premieres of Steven Mena’s critically-acclaimed psychological slasher BEREAVEMENT (High Fliers), Kelly Smith’s serial killer shocker DON’T LET HIM IN (High Fliers) and Stig Svendsen’s white-knuckle suspense thriller ELEVATOR (High Fliers) and May ushers in Sean Hogan’s haunting THE DEVIL’S BUSINESS (Metrodome), Colin Theys’ apocalyptic zombie thriller REMAINS (Metrodome) and Keith Wright’s touching horror comedy HAROLD’S GOING STIFF (High Fliers). ?
Chris Sharp, Chello Zone’s Chief Programming Officer said today: “As Horror Channel’s reputation grows so does our responsibility to the viewers to bring them the most eclectic mix of genre titles from around the world. Both the quality and the quantity of premiere titles we are delivering this year further validates why we are the UK’s number one TV destination for genre fans”.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
