It’s not exactly TOP GUN 2, nor does it seem they’ll be heading anywhere near the danger zone, but Val Kilmer and Anthony Edwards are returning to the cockpits. Actually, they ARE the cockpits, as they will each be voicing a character in the upcoming Disney animated film PLANES, a spin-off from Pixar’s CARS. Note that Pixar have nothing to do with PLANES. I didn’t think much of CARS and CARS 2 is in my list of worst films ever made. But, putting Kilmer and Edwards in is a simple enough trick to have convinced me to give this a short.
Below are 14 character posters, each of whom has had their vocal talent announced as follows: Dusty (Dane Cook), Bravo & Echo (Edwards and Kilmer), Skipper (Stacy Keach), Leadbottom (Cedric the Entertainer), Dottie (Teri Hatcher), Chug (Brad Garrett), Ripslinger (Roger Craig Smith), Ned and Zed (Gabriel Iglesias), El Chupacabra (Carlos Alazraqui), Rochelle (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), Bulldog (John Cleese), Ishani (Priyanka Chopra), Roper (Sinbad) and Colin Cowling (Colin Cowherd).
PLANES is set for a US release on 9th August and a UK release on 16th August.
