David Goyer Teases Lex Luthor In ‘Man Of Steel’

manofsteel_cavill_588x329Warner Bros. are continuing their high levels of secrecy for MAN OF STEEL, something that added to the intrigue of THE DARK KNIGHT trilogy. We’re yet to see much of the actual film, but one thing we do know is that General Zod is the main villain and will be played by Michael Shannon. This is of important note, as it will be only the second time that Lex Luthor doesn’t appear in a SUPERMAN movie, the first being SUPERMAN III. Yet we’re now hearing that perhaps Lex Luthor will be making an appearance after all.

In an interview with I Am Rogue, Goyer was asked how he came to the decision to not include Lex Luthor, to which Goyer responded:

I don’t think anyone has ever confirmed that we haven’t included him.

This links back to a rumour that was circulating over a year ago, which suggested that Bradley Cooper may have a cameo as Lex Luthor.

I think a small cameo from the character might be okay, but even I’m bored of Luthor as a character and I don’t really follow Superman at all. Cooper would be an interesting choice and I would certainly like to see him flex his villainous muscles.

MAN OF STEEL is released 14th June. It stars Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Christopher Meloni, Ayelet Zurer and Laurence Fishburne.
