Marvel’s ‘Phase II’ will begin late next month with Robert Downey Jr.’s return as wise-cracking billionaire Tony Stark. Bruised and battered after battling Loki’s extraterrestrial army in the Battle of New York, during the epic conclusion of THE AVENGERS, Stark must suit-up again to take on deadly duo, The Mandarin and Dr. Aldrich Killian, played by Ben Kingsley and Guy Pearce, respectively.
The film is this time co-written and directed by Shane Black and will incorporate the fan-favourite comic-book arc of the lethal Extremis virus into the plot. Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, Jon Favreau and Gwyneth Patrow all return to the franchise, which includes newcomers Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale and William Sadler.
