We imagined that we’d see very little of Roland Emmerich’s WHITE HOUSE DOWN, until the similarly themed OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN hit US cinemas. The Gerard Butler-led actioner was released to a decent $30 million-plus opening over the weekend, as well as garnering some impressively positive reviews. The film is still to land here in the UK (landing 17th April) but eyes are now on the ‘other’ effort that sees Channing Tatum’s cop and President Jamie Foxx, take down intruders of the world famous address.
Emmerich has already wiped out the White House during sci-fi disaster epics, INDEPENDENCE DAY and THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW but will stick the camera inside the Oval Office to bring us a fun, fast-paced (and surely brainless) action-thriller.
Check out the first teaser poster from WHITE HOUSE DOWN which arrives 28th June in the US and the 6th September in the UK. It co-stars Jason Clarke, Joey King, James Woods, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rachelle Lefevre, Jimmi Simpson and Richard Jenkins. The first trailer hits tomorrow!
