It’s been so long since a horror flick has been anticipated in the same way Fede Alvarez’ EVIL DEAD remake has. As iconic as Sam Raimi’s controversial video nasty was, Alvarez appears to have captured the atmospheric, intense tone of the original film, while giving the plot a genuinely refreshing spin.
Jane Levy’s drug-addcited Mia needs to go cold-turkey with the help of her friends and finds the notorious cabin a perfect retreat to rid herself of crack. The discovery of the ‘Book Of The Dead’ unleashes the evil deadite spirits which possess each character into performing some stomach-churning body modifications.
The film is released in the US from 5th April and the UK from 19th April (our review here) and here we have a bunch of new stills for your gruesome pleasure.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
