David O. Russell is currently shooting his follow up to his brilliant Oscar-winning drama, SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK. The film, previously titled AMERICAN BULLSHIT, is based on the true story of a notorious financial con man and his partner in crime, who worked together with an FBI agent to catch other con artists and underworld figures. However, their sting operation during the late 1970s, called ‘Abscam’, lead to the conviction of a number of corrupt United States politicians.
The film, which is still untitled, sees Russell back working with his SLP duo, Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence as well as THE FIGHTER’s Christian Bale and Amy Adams. Jeremy Renner, Dawn Olivieri, Louis C.K. and Alessandro Nivola also co-star
