New Russian Posters For ‘Evil Dead’ & ‘The Place Beyond The Pines’

Two of the most anticipated films of the year have landed alternative poster artwork for their Russian release.

First up, check out the new design for Fede Alvarez’ contemporary remake of Sam Raimi’s notorious splatterfest, EVIL DEAD. The film stars Jane Levy as Mia, who along with the help of her brother and three friends, attempts to go cold turkey following major drug problems. Of course, their retreat to the ‘cabin in the woods’ rears up a familiar-looking, flesh-bound tome with it’s contents unleashing the soul-swallowing deadites of the Necronomicon. EVIL DEAD will hit US cinemas from the 5th April and the UK from 19th April.

Director Derek Cianfrance reunites with handsome leading man, Ryan Gosling, following their devastating Oscar-nominated drama, BLUE VALENTINE. Crime-thriller, THE PLACE BEYOND THE PINES centres of travelling motorcyclist Luke, who discovers he’s fathered a child and is desperate to form a bond and stick around. However, he turns to bank robberies to support his new family, which leads him on a tragic collision course with determined cop, Bradley Cooper. The film is released in the US from 29th March and the UK 12th April.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
