HORRIBLE BOSSES screenwriters John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein will make their directorial debuts with a sequel/reboot to original classic comedy franchise, NATIONAL LAMPOON’S VACATION. THE HANGOVER’s Ed Helms is already on-board as the now grown-up and put-upon son, Rusty Griswold, in the New Line Cinema production and now it’s expected ANCHORMAN’s natural comedienne, Christina Applegate, will take the female lead as Rusty’s “strong-willed” wife.
The plot for the latest film finds Rusty taking his own family on a road trip and returning to the infamous Wally World. Daley and Goldstein are still hoping to coax some of the original cast members, including Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, to return. Co-incidentally, Applegate is currently filming the sequel to one of her own hit roles with ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES. Shooting will commence on VACATION in early June in New Mexico and Atlanta.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
