This Friday will see kids around the globe pestering parents to see the latest animated effort from Dreamworks Animation. THE CROODS follows a loveable, prehistoric family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always shielded them from danger is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures changing their outlook on the world forever.
The film, written and directed by Chris Sanders and Kirk De Micco, features the voice talent of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke and Cloris Leachman. Check out this ‘Daddy Crood’ music video which gives a comic update to Boney M’s classic ‘Daddy Cool’ by international star Faf Larage. You can also read our review of the film here.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
