Last Friday’s brilliantly clever teaser for Steve Coogan’s big-screen alter-ego, Alan Partridge in ALPHA PAPA, saw the failed chat show host-turned-radio DJ and colleagues, discuss titles for his very own movie. The plot was also hinted at and suggested we’ll see the ABBA loving character in (cowering) hero mode as the studios of North Norfolk Digital come under siege from unsavoury individuals.
We’ve got a bunch of fan-made posters featuring the former Lintern Travel Tavern resident amongst Hollywood-inspired artwork. Each using the genius alternative titles. I’d loved to have been in a queue seeing everyone asking for tickets to see CHAP OF STEEL!
We await an official poster for ALPHA PAPA!
ALAN PARTRIDGE: ALPHA PAPA is directed by Declan Lowney and released in UK cinemas from 7th August. It will co-star Felicity Montague, Tim Key, Simon Greenall, Nigel Lindsay, Phil Cornwell, Sean Pertwee and Anna Maxwell Martin.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
