Jason Statham teams up with EASTERN PROMISES scribe Steven Knight, who makes his directorial debut, for dark thriller, HUMMINGBIRD. The story centres on an ex-Special Forces soldier, Joey Jones, recently returned from Afghanistan, who has found himself homeless on the streets of London and pushed to the limit following the murder of his pregnant girlfriend.
You can expect to see a touch more drama than the usual Statham vehicle with Knight in charge. His brooding, twisted screenplays with David Cronenberg’s 2007 film, as well as the likes DIRTY PRETTY THINGS and the upcoming LOCKE, make this a one to watch out for. Even more exciting is news we’ll see, or rather hear, no dodgy American accent from the brilliant, Brit beefcake.
HUMMINGBIRD is released in the UK on the 17th May and co-stars Vicky McClure, Benedict Wong, Siobhan Hewlett, Christian Brassington and Ian Pirie.
