Back in February we posted that Saoirse Ronan had been confirmed for Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut HOW TO CATCH A MONSTER, but everyone involved in the project has been pretty tight lipped on the project…and they continue to be. Ronan, who will feature in the film alongside Eva Mendez and MAD MEN star Christina Hendricks, did reveal that she thinks the project will be very ‘experimental’ and also had great words to say about her future boss:
“I think Ryan is going to be very supportive as a director, just because he’s an actor as well and he gets it. From what he’s been telling me about the approach he wants to take, he wants us to really discover these characters ourselves and use our imaginations to create these characters.”
HOW TO CATCH A MONSTER will start rehearsals in the next couple of months and begins shooting in May according to Ronan
“He’s already written great characters on the page, but he wants us to develop those even more as people. I like that he’s put so much trust in his actors to do that. I think it’ll be really fun and really cool.”
As much as we like to see Gosling on our screens, we are very excited about his debut behind the camera!
