It’s a coming. A huge, monster, epic of a film from director Guillermo Del Toro. PACIFIC RIM takes place in the not-to-distant future (where everything seems to go wrong in film world), where humans use giant robots to fight monsters called Kaiju. Legendary Pictures has released an image teasing the sheer enormity of the beasts that the robots will be battling. As a huge fan of giant robot animes and Japanese kaiju films from the 1950s and beyond, this will no doubt be one of my favourite films of the year. In the words of GODZILLA 1998 ‘Size Does Matter’!
PACIFIC RIM is released 12th July 2013. It stars Idris Elba, Ron Perlman, Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi and Charlie Day.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
