With so much news coming our way concerning X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, it’s easy to forget that we’ll be dabbling in that universe sooner than 2014. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has his second spin-off in THE WOLVERINE planned for later this year. We still haven’t seen much from the film, but what we can reveal today are some rather awesome character portraits courtesy of director James Mangold’s Twitter account. We get one of Hugh (of course), but also a look at Rila Fukushima as Yukio, and Tao Okamato as Mariko, the love interest.
I’m quietly confident about this film, and think it is keeping a low profile until after IRON MAN 3 has been and gone. X-MEN: FIRST CLASS may have been a rewarding experience, but X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE was one of the worst additions to the superhero genre in my opinion.
THE WOLVERINE is released 26th July 2013. It stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Brian Tee, Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamato, and Svetlana Khodchenkova.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
