‘Jurassic Park IV’ Director Confirmed As…

While we’ve all had our eyes on just who will be helming and starring in Disney’s STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, another ‘little’ project was recently confirmed for a release in summer 2014. I say little, but few are bigger than the JURASSIC PARK franchise. While there was no plot details released for the latest dino adventure, fans are still extremely excited for JURASSIC PARK IV, despite a rather low-key third outing and minus Steven Spielberg in the directors chair.

Well, we can now confirm a rumoured contender for that STAR WARS hot seat, now filled by J.J. Abrams, will direct the fourth film in the franchise. That man will be Colin Treverrow whose independent time-travel comedy, SAFETY NOT GUARANTEED, caught the eye of many a studio. He’ll helm Spielberg-produced prehistoric epic for Universal Pictures.

He was also recently announced as the director of the FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR remake but we suggest dinosaurs come before aliens, especially with such a tight schedule, a 3D shoot and release date of 13th June 2014.

Thoughts? Are you happy with the choice? As ever, we’d love to know.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
