If there is a filmmaker who knows how to make use of a deadly weapon with an intimate part of the anatomy, it’s Robert Rodriquez.
Following his fake trailer inserted between his and pal, Quentin Tarantino’s experimental GRINDHOUSE projects, PLANET TERROR and DEATH PROOF, Rodriguez’ expanded on his idea of burned ex-federal Mexican agent, MACHETE, and made a full-length feature. The all-star eclectic cast included A-listers Robert De Niro and Jessica Alba amongst B-movie veterans Don Johnston, Steven Seagal and of course, Danny Trejo as the revenge-seeking lead.
Sequel MACHETE KILLS has now completed shooting and we have a brand new poster featuring MODERN FAMILY favourite Sofia Vagara’s Desdemona and her lethal bosom.
The film sees the return of Trejo, Alba and Michelle Rodriguez alongside and equally starry line up of Mel Gibson, Lady GaGa, Antonio Bandaras, Cuba Gooding Jr., Charlie Sheen, Amber Heard, Vanessa Hudgens and William Sadler. It lands in the US 15th September but no UK date as yet.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
