We in the UK have yet to gaze upon her ‘DARK SKIES’ (Scott Stewart’s sci-fi thriller hits UK cinemas 5th April), but Keri Russell has now joined the cast of Matt Reeves’ monkey madness sequel, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. The actress is familiar for her roles in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – GHOST PROTOCOL and hit television show FELICITY, which ran from 1998-2002. She is also currently seen in acclaimed espionage series, THE AMERICANS.
Russell joins Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Andy Serkis and Gary Oldman as the band of survivors in a follow-up to Rupert Wyatt’s surprisingly superb RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, which will be set 15 years after previous events. The new film will show how ultra-intelligent chimp Caesar presides over the fall of human civilisation, after the apes break out of their facility and a virus causes the collapse of mankind as the dominant species.
DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES hits cinemas from the 23rd May 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
