Jonathan Creek is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me over the years, and it has gathered something of a cult-following across the UK…and maybe beyond! They’d already confirmed an Easter special and now the Beeb are adding an all-new 3-Part series for the excellent comedian and actor Alan Davies. The Arsenal-supporting star also took to Twitter to reaffirm those rumours with this tweet:
Jonathan Creek fans, we are making 3 one hour eps in the autumn. No other details yet, hopefully I will be playing Creek.

So, it’ll be filmed in Autumn and legendary writer David Renwick is involved, so maybe this means a run-up to Christmas with some no-doubt dark and clever twists and turns. There’s something equally British and unique about Jonathan Creek, so I’ll be very eager to see what they come up with for the show that originally aired between 1997 and 2004.
Over the years, we’ve seen Davies star alongside Caroline Quentin and Julia Sawalha. It’s had a number of one-off specials more recently with the addition of rising starlet Sheridan Smith as Joey Ross, a fellow investigator. More news, as we receive it!
