While he’s out and about filming THE ALAN PARTRIDGE MOVIE in the characters homeland of Norfolk, Steve Coogan will next be seen as Paul Raymond – The King Of Soho – in Michael Winterbottom’s THE LOOK OF LOVE. The film will chart Raymond’s ascent from the young boy from a poor background to the richest man in England as his porn publishing empire and selective nightclubs made his fortune. His latter years, however, were filled with tragedy and heartbreak.
It’s the fourth time Winterbottom and Coogan have worked together following TRISTRAM SHANDY: A COCK & BULL STORY, THE TRIP and the hilarious look at the ‘Madchester’ music scene with 24 HOUR PARTY PEOPLE.
THE LOOK OF LOVE co-stars Anna Friel, Tamsin Edgerton, Chris Addison, Matt Lucas, Stephen Fry, David Walliams and Imogen Poots. Check out the first trailer for the film hitting the UK 26th April.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
