We’ve been keeping an eye on the previously named AMERICAN LIE as it takes over the indie film scene across the US in the past year, and now they’ve got an official re-name with CASTING COUCH and it’ll be yours to own across all the major outlets from March 12th. CASTING COUCH was an official selection and the opening night film of the 6th Annual Mockfest Film Festival in November 2012. With an oversized cast of Hollywood’s hottest up and coming starlets, the event quickly sold out and was awarded BEST DIRECTOR & BEST WRITER (Jason Lockhart), along with HOTTEST GIRL (Mindy Robinson) and BEST PICTURE (The Zelig Award). Awesome producer Brian Karr had this to say:
“This is so much more than your standard T&A comedy, the writing is quick and smart and really sets it apart.”
The film follows six down-on-their-luck guys who are so desperate to meet new girls that they come up with the ultimate plan to hook up – cast a fake movie. When tons of hot chicks show up for the audition, it’s a matter of who’s willing to go the farthest to get the part! Packed with enough crude humor and gorgeous girls for a dozen movies, CASTING COUCH is a hilarious scam that’s about to get real! Director Jason Lockhart also added a few words:
“I wanted to make something sexy and raunchy, but memorable, something my fraternity brothers could quote… And I hope it makes Christopher Guest smile.”

This might not be a Judd Apatow film starring Will Ferrell and Kristen Wigg, but its lineup of characters delivers something fresh – a brand new gang – something audiences haven’t seen much of since AMERICAN PIE or DAZED AND CONFUSED. The guys are really freaking funny, and a few of their CASTING COUCH “victims” are Mayra Leal (MACHETE), Mindy Robinson (Take Me Out), Jessica Rose (GREEK), Michelle Pierce (NCIS), Chasty Ballesteros (THE NEWSROOM) and newcomer Kayla Collins (August 2008 Playboy Playmate) and to top things off, a pop rock soundtrack reminiscent of the turn of the century adds to the enthusiastic energy and makes for a really fun ride!
