The stunning redhead who just can’t stop working, Jessica Chastain, is being lined up for the role of Jane in frequent HARRY POTTER director, David Yates’ upcoming adaptation of ‘Tarzan Of The Apes’, the first in the series of novels from Edgar Rice Burroughs to feature the iconic vine-swinging hero. Chastain had another fantastic year in 2012, which collimated in an Oscar-nomination for her powerhouse performance in ZERO DARK THIRTY.
Yates is currently in pre-production on yet another version of Burroughs’ creation, which last we heard, had TRUE BLOOD heartthrob, Alexander Skarsgard set for the lead. We’ve heard no confirmation from Warner Bros., so they may still be looking at other contenders.
Would you be happy to see some monkey business between the in-demand Chastain and Skarsgard. We’ll keep you posted as the project develops.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
