All-round funny lady Tina Fey is apparently in talks to join Jason Bateman in THIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU.
Based on a book written by Jonathan Tropper, Bateman and Fey are set to play siblings (two out of four) who have to overcome their differences when their father dies. However, dear old Dad has one last request – that his grown-up children spend an entire week together following the funeral.
Fey will play Bateman’s married older sister, who returns to the family home only to find that her first love has been brain damaged. Kathryn Hahn (GIRLS) is also in talks to play Bateman’s sister-in-law. Sources also suggest that four names are up for the role of Bateman’s love interest: Mary Elizabeth Winstead (SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD), Ari Graynor (FOR A GOOD TIME CALL…), Isla Fisher (WEDDING CRASHERS) and Zoe Saldana (AVATAR). Shawn Levy (REAL STEEL, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM) is set to direct.
With some big names in the pipeline, THIS IS WHERE I LEAVE YOU could be brilliant. However, taken down the wrong path and it could also be awful. As a huge fan of both Fey and Bateman, I’m hoping it’s the former.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
