Bryan Singer is back in the world of fiction following 2008’s intense and gripping fact-based drama, VALKYRIE, which starred Tom Cruise as the man looking to devise a plan to bring down Adolf Hitler. However, it’s not just any fantasy film Singer is returning with. No way, he’s bringing us a spectacular re-imagining of classic fairytale, Jack & The Beanstalk, retitled as perhaps the more appropriate JACK THE GIANT SLAYER.
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS and WARM BODIES rising star, Nicholas Hoult, takes the title role as his naive, lovestruck peasant and reignites a centuries-old war with the giants living amongst the clouds, when a magic bean triggers a gateway back into the human world. Ian McShane, Ewan McGregor, Eddie Marsan, Bill Nighy and Eleanor Tomlinson co-star in the adventure set for US cinemas today and UK 22nd March.
Check out this featurette introduced by the hero here exclusively on THN:
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
