MGM and Paramount Pictures are putting a little healthy competition together by moving up the release date of the upcoming HERCULES.
The film, which will star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the title role, was set to be released from 8th August 2014. However, it will now be released two weeks earlier on 25th July 2014.
While the film has no box office competition so far, the move does mean that HERCULES will be released a week after both X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and THE HOBBIT: THERE AND BACK AGAIN.
The film HERCULES: THE THRACIAN WARS will be based on the HERCULES comic series of the same name. Ryan Condal will write the script, making it his first feature film project.
Well…we know what films we’ll be seeing – what about you guys?

I certainly won’t be seeing a Brett Ratner movie! Couldn’t they find a capable director? Also, The Rock as Hercules sounds like a major miscast.
