X-MEN regular James Marsden will take on the might of Ron Burgundy after being cast as the lead news rival to Will Ferrell’s stuck-in-the-seventies Channel 4 news anchor, in Adam McKay’s comic sequel.
Ferrell will be back to reprise his chauvinist signature role of flute-playing icon Burgundy. Paul Rudd’s Sex Panther-wearing Brian Fantana; Christina Applegate’s Veronica ‘Tits Magee’ Corningstone; Steve Carell’s lamp-loving Brick Tamland and David Koechner’s cocky cowboy, Champ Kind, all return. Marsden will join newcomer to the franchise, BRIDESMAIDS’ Kristen Wiig, in the follow-up entitled ANCHORMAN: THE LEGEND CONTINUES.
Expect a host of hilarious cameos from the likes of Ben Stiller, Luke Wilson, Tim Robbins and Vince Vaughn, as the brilliantly bonkers and envious news anchors for the film due in cinemas 20th December.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
