THE PRINCESS BRIDE is something that’s actually crept up on me as I got a little older, and I’ve come to think of it as a cult classic already. Behind this unique tale is legendary director Rob Reiner, together with Academy Award® winning screenwriter William Goldman (Butch Cassidy, Misery, Heat), they created a truly original experience with THE PRINCESS BRIDE, which evoked the wondrous, wide-eyed spirit of William Goldman’s witty 1973 novel. We’ve now been given the details of the 25th Anniversary Blu-ray, that’s released in the UK on March 25th. It’s also got one hell of a cast with Cary Elwes, Robin Wright Penn, Mandy Patinkin, Fred Savage, Billy Crystal, Peter Falk, Christopher Guest, Mel Smith and even Mr Peter Cook.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary the release features the new two-part retrospective ‘True Love: The Princess Bride Phenomenon’ film which includes a reunion with director Rob Reiner and stars Robin Wright and Cary Elwes, new cast interviews with Mandy Patinkin, Billy Crystal, Chris Sarandon & Christopher Guest, film tributes, fun parodies and fan encounters. There are also brand new extras including ‘The Art of Fencing’ featurette, ‘Dread Pirate Roberts: Greatest Legend of the Seven Seas’ featurette, ‘Miraculous Makeup’, ‘Princess Bride: The Untold Tales’ cast interviews, a ‘Fairy Tales and Folklore’ featurette and a ‘Love is like a Storybook’ featurette looking at the films plot and themes.
