The highly anticipated adaptation of John Green’s THE FAULT IN OUR STARS officially has a director attached, and the role has gone to quite a surprising choice. Josh Boone, who directed and written his first film STUCK IN LOVE, will be directing the project. Boone has only directed one film, but the choice has been welcomed by author of the book John Green.
In a press release, Boone reassured the fans that he plans to be true to the novel.
“I feel the weight and responsibility to get this right, and give his readers and devoted fans as pure a translation as possible…We hope to create a little infinity within this film that fans can revisit over and over.”
While the director has been confirmed, it is still unknown on who will play the role of Hazel and Augustus. Internet rumours suggested that Shailene Woodley was being offered the role of Hazel, but it has been confirmed that she is only in the running.
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS recently returned to The New York Times best seller’s list after a year of being released, and the novel officially had its UK release at the beginning of the year. The screenplay is written by screenwriting duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, better known for their work on (500) DAYS OF SUMMER.
