I remember passing the El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard in November 2001, when a swarm of kids and parents were lining up for the premiere of MONSTERS INC. At the time, I wondered what all the fuss was about, with my naivety still stunned at the marvellous Mann’s Chinese Theatre directly across the street. I now understand and had I any clue just how masterful Disney-Pixar’s latest was, I’d have been just as delirious as those kiddies… even at the age of 21!
We’re soon to see just how the loveable duo of James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski became firm friends in MONSTERS UNIVERSITY, although we understand they were enemies initially. John Goodman and Billy Crystal return to voice their respective characters in the first prequel in Disney-Pixar’s cannon.
Check out these eight new character posters for the animated comedy, directed by Dan Scanlon and due in US cinemas 21st June and 12th July in the UK.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
