Hoping to steal a march on Roland Emmerich’s similarly-themed WHITE HOUSE DOWN, Gerard Butler’s OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN sees the gruff Scot as a disgraced Secret Service Agent, called back into action when the world famous address of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue comes under terrorist attack. It’s a simple premise that should have fans excited, and could wipe the sour taste left by the latest dire DIE HARD outing.
Whilst we’ve also ready had character posters for Butler, Morgan Freeman and Aaron Eckhart, it’s now the turn of Angela Bassett, Rick Yune and Dylan McDermott.
TRAINING DAY’s Antoine Fuqua directs with the film which co-stars Radha Mitchell, Ashley Judd, Cole Hauser and Robert Forster. The film has a US release of the 22nd March and a UK date set for the 19th April. Check out the trailer here, if you missed it.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
