While, we already showcased Disney’s enchanting animated short PAPERMAN recently, we have been able to now assemble each of the five nominees vying for the award of Best Animated Short at this years 85th Academy Awards. All five, much like a lot of categories in years list of Oscar nominees, appear worthy winners, so it’s going to be a difficult one to predict.
Firstly, we begin with the aforementioned (and shown) beauty, PAPERMAN, from Disney director John Kahrs.
Next we have ADAM & DOG, directed by Minkyu Lee.
Here we have the peculiar-named, cult director PES’ ingenious FRESH GUACAMOLE.
Will you fall HEAD OVER HEELS for directors Timothy Reckart and Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly’s latest?
Finally, check out David Silverman’s hilarious Simpson’s-inspired short THE LONGEST DAYCARE!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
