While he might have had his directing cap on for the last year, it has been revealed that Paul Schrader will be going back to writing, as he is to pen the screenplay for upcoming thriller THE DEVIL’S RIGHT HAND.
THE DEVIL’S RIGHT HAND, an adaptation of the original story by Danish screenwriter Anders Olholm, tells the story of a group of ad executives in modern day New York who are desperately trying to hide a secret that could destroy their careers. Schrader’s adaptation will move the story from Copenhagen to New York.
Despite being known for writing the screenplays for RAGING BULL and TAXI DRIVER, Schrader’s recent directing effort THE CANYONS has put him in the limelight over the last few months. THE CANYONS, written by author Bret Easton Ellis, stars Lindsay Lohan and porn star James Deen. The film has been rejected from many festivals, including South By South West and, more recently, Sundance.
We’re definitely glad to see Schrader back writing – are you?
