Following this years re-release of MONSTERS INC. in the now customary 3D, Summer 2013 will see Disney-Pixar unveil their very first prequel with MONSTERS UNIVERSITY. The sure-fire animated blockbuster will take a look at the early friendship between the loveable Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan, during their days at the University of Fear, when they weren’t necessarily the best of friends.
John Goodman and Billy Crystal return to lend their voices to the cuddly duo, as does the excellent Steve Buscemi as their nemesis, Randall Boggs. Familiar comic faces also featuring their tones are Dave Foley, David Spade, Joel Murray and Michael McKean, with Randy Newman once again supplying some memorable musical numbers.
MONSTERS UNIVERSITY is this time directed by first-timer Dan Scanlon and escapes into US cinemas from 21st June, followed by the 12th July, here in the UK.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
