Not content with beating up Batman, taking on the role of ‘Mad’ Max Rockatansky and leading a SPLINTER CELL into action, Tom Hardy has put pen to paper on another project – real time-set action thriller, LOCKE.
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES and WARRIOR star will headline writer and director Steven Knight’s film, which will focus on a 90 minute timeframe in the life of Ivan Locke, a man who seemingly has the perfect family and a dream job. However, one phone call will force him to make a decision that will put it all on the line and lead him on a nail-biting journey for their survival.
Hardy is fast becoming the first go-to-guy for a number of projects after catching the eye in Nicolas Winding-Refn’s ace comic-crime biopic, BRONSON. He’s barely put a foot wrong since taking Hollywood by storm. Well, we can forgive him for the self-tagged tit McG’s, THIS MEANS WAR. Can’t we?
LOCKE will begin shooting in London this month and is expected early next year. We’ll keep you posted on confirmed and potential co-stars.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
