Bryan Cranston & Elizabeth Olsen Set To Take On ‘Godzilla’!

The news of MONSTERS director Gareth Edwards’ GODZILLA has begun to heat up over the last few weeks. From rumours of problems behind-the-scenes with producers being fired, confirmation the excellent Frank Darabont has been brought on to rework the script and then the news that KICK-ASS himself, Aaron Johnson, is set for the lead and now…more news!

BREAKING BAD legend Bryan Cranston is in talks for a strong supporting role, which will hopefully see him utilised better than Len Wiseman’s woeful TOTAL RECALL remake. He was also an integral part of Ben Affleck’s barnstorming political thriller ARGO, which is now favourite to take top honours at the Academy Awards.

Acclaimed SILENT HOUSE and MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE actress Elizabeth Olsen, who has just completed work on Spike Lee’s OLDBOY remake, is also in negotiations to appear in the film still slated for cinemas on the 16th May 2014 but many believe they’ll struggle to make that deadline.

We’ll keep you posted on any confirmation and further details.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
