My friend Joseph Upton, he of The Hollywood Booze fame, paid me the ultimate compliment last week and said that I looked a lot like Colin Farrell. It’s true, and you can hear him say it, albeit relatively drunk on the podcast and yes, I can see the resemblance bro. Anyway, Hollywood’s hottest looking actor is all set on a new project teaming him up with Sir Anthony Hopkins in a film called SOLACE for writer Peter Morgan and director Afonso Poyart (who makes his English language debut).
The mighty IMDB says that the film is about a doctor with psychic abilities hunts down a serial killer. Hopkins will play the doctor, and Farrell the serial killer.
Deadline have a more in-depth synopsis:
An FBI detective seeks the help of a retired and reclusive doctor, to try and solve a series of grisly murders. The doctor was a wiz at the murder game, but lost his mojo when his daughter died tragically. Desperate, the detective presses the doctor to come out of retirement for one more case.
Sean Bailey and Ted Griffin have had hands in the screenplay as well as James Vanderbilt. Morgan wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay. I like the idea of this, but that’sa lot of writers involved, and the film has had a director attached previously; ARLINGTON ROAD and THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES helmer Mark Pellington.
