He may currently be putting CIA operative JACK RYAN through his paces, so naturally he’s the first choice to handle an adaptation of CINDERELLA. Well, not quite the first choice as the position was originally filled by Mark Romanek who left due to creative differences. The film is being produced by Disney, who have been kicking out more live-action versions of classic tales for with ALICE IN WONDERLAND and the upcoming OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL and MALIFICENT. Branagh is currently on a career high thanks to his handling of Marvel’s THOR, so hopefully he can add that little Shakespearean twang to the tale of a shoe losing peasant. Cate Blanchett is attached as the evil stepmother, but the role of Cinderella is wide open with Saoirse Ronan, Gabrielle Wilde and Alicia Vikander being eyed for the part.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
