Fan boys and girls of the land, hold on to your hats, because it looks like Hazel and Augustus will be coming to our screens sooner than you think! Producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey have confirmed that THE FAULT IN OUR STARS is next on their hit list, with plans to start shooting in the Summer.
Bowen and Godfrey, who produced TWILIGHT and the latest Nicholas Sparks adaptation SAFE HAVEN, have revealed that everything is set and a director could be announced within two weeks.
The one thing that everybody wants to know is how involved is John Green? Well according to Marty Bowen, he is very much involved. He said:
“He’s very involved. He’s read every draft. We talk to him all the time. He loves the script, feels that we’ve captured everything that we could have hoped to capture in the book, so I think fans will be really happy with it.”
However, when the conversation turned to actors and actresses for the role, the producers said that they do not want to hire anybody without hiring a director first. Marty did joke:
“We’re gonna have Meryl Streep actually. She’s amazing. She plays a 17-yaer-old cancer survivor!”
Now THAT we would like to see.
