The SPIDER-MAN and EVIL DEAD trilogies director Sam Raimi will set James Franco on a path to the Emerald City, via the Yellow Brick Road, as his fraud magician Oscar Diggs ‘ain’t in Kansas anymore’ in OZ: THE GREAT & POWERFUL. Arriving in the magical land of Oz with its population thinking he’s their prophesied saviour, Franco must cast out the Wicked Witch Of The North with the help of friends Glinda The Good (Michelle Williams), the Munchkins and a pair of suspicious witch sisters (played by Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz).
Check out this new featurette, introducing a number of the characters, as well as five new character posters.
OZ: THE GREAT & POWERFUL lands in cinemas 8th March and is the prequel to fantasy classic THE WIZARD OF OZ.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
