For a blockbusting action epic, OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN has quietly gone about its filmmaking business, pretty much under the radar. While we may have brought you the first posters a few months ago, there has been very little to report, before or since. Maybe the film is hoping steer clear of the similarly-themed WHITE HOUSE DOWN, directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Jamie Fox and Channing Tatum, as it creeps up to it’s US release on the 22nd March and a UK date set for the 19th April.
The film sees Gerard Butler as a disgraced former Secret Service Agent, called into action when the world famous address of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue comes under terrorist attack. Check out the first trailer for the action-thriller that also stars Morgan Freeman, Angela Bassett, Radha Mitchell, Dylan McDermott, Ashley Judd, Aaron Eckhart, Cole Hauser, Rick Yune and Robert Forster. Antoine Fuqua directs, what is looking much like DIE HARD in the White House!
