Award winning actor, writer, director Simon Pegg has been confirmed to host the special charity screening of the award winning and Oscar®* nominated, BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD in aid of global charitable organisation Oxfam, on Wednesday 6thFebruary 2013.
Already winner of a multitude of awards, BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD is also nominated in the upcoming 2013 Academy Awards®* in four categories for Best Picture, Director, Adapted Screenplay and Best Actress In A Leading Role for little but mighty lead star Quvenzhané Wallis – the youngest ever nominee in the prestigious Awards’ history.
We’re excited to announce that Studiocanal and Simon Pegg are to present a special evening event at the renowned Mayfair Hotel, London, raising money towards Oxfam’s work overcoming poverty and suffering worldwide. The event will allow audiences to fundraise for charity, via ticket purchases and provide another chance to catch the magical film on the big screen in an exclusive Central London venue, ahead of the film’s release on DVD and Blu-ray on 11th February.
Studiocanal’s charity partner for the event, Oxfam work to fight global poverty at its roots – from life-saving emergency responses to life-changing development projects, working on long-term projects with communities determined to shape a better future for themselves and campaigning for genuine, lasting change. Oxfam operate in 94 countries to help tackle the causes of poverty and acting fast to provide disaster relief.
It’s open to the public to purchase tickets, all proceeds** from each ticket sold to the event will go directly to Oxfam.
