Joseph Kosinski’s follow-up to Disney favourite TRON, may not have reached to the heights of the fanboy hype, but there is no doubt he knows how to put on a visually-stunning spectacle. Kosinski’s latest project sees him unite with superstar Tom Cruise for yet another gorgeous-looking sci-fi epic – OBLIVION. Don’t forget to check out the impressive trailer, poster and concept art, if you’ve missed them.
The film will see Cruise as one of the few remaining drone repairmen assigned to Earth decades after an alien war devastated the planet. While carrying out his latest mission, he discovers a crashed spacecraft with something inside that brings into question everything he believed about the historic world battle, which could leave the fate of remaining mankind in his hands.
Here are the latest stills from the film co-starring Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Olga Kurylenko, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Zoe Bell, Melissa Leo and due in cinemas 12th April.
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
