Second Trailer Surfaces For Michael Shannon’s Mob Biopic ‘The Iceman’

For 30-plus years, life was good to Richard Kuklinski. A loving husband and devoted father to his two daughters and son. This man however, hid a terrible secret from his family that finally caught up with him during the mid-1980s, when he was arrested for murder. Kuklinski finally confessed to carrying out countless assassinations for the Gambino crime family during 1948-85. Despite not being directly involved in organised crime, he was the go-to-guy if you wanted a ‘job’ done right, and his lifestyle and family was the prefect cover.

Michael Shannon takes on the role of Kuklinski in the forthcoming biopic THE ICEMAN – the nickname given to him due to his notorious methods of freezing and hiding bodies for weeks, leaving the authorities clueless to the time of death when eventually discovered. The film, which is based on the novel by Anthony Bruno, co-stars Winona Ryder, Chris Evans, James Franco, Robert Davi, Ray Liotta, David Schwimmer, Stephen Dorff and is due in the US on the 3rd May, followed by the 7th June in the UK.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
