Best-selling author Harold Blum’s next novel, entitled DARK INVASION and set for bookshelves 2013, has already had the big-screen rights secured by Warner Bros. Newly crowned Oscar-nominee Bradley Cooper is being eyed for the American WWI-set spy-thriller that will follow NYPD Captain Tom Tunney, a respected cop who is asked to form a righteous team of spy hunting officers as the first chief of Homeland Security, when Germany sends their spies to the U.S. with a mission to bring chaos to the at-the-time neutral nation.
Sounding almost like a US version of TINKER TAILER SOLDIER SPY (albeit with a younger leading man), the project is still in its infancy but we’ll keep you posted on any developments, including any confirmation of Cooper’s casting and potential directors.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
