While Sam Claflin might not have been the obvious role for the famous role of Finnick Odair in CATCHING FIRE (many fan favourites ranged from THE CABIN IN THE WOODS Jesse Williams to GLEE’s Grant Gustin) but there is no doubt that the poor fella is trying his best to make sure he lives up to the fan reputation.
While Sam has Finnick’s green eyes and dimples, he had to dye his hair blonde and bulk up for the role, with a lovely diet of chicken and asparagus. Something that Sam wasn’t too pleased with:
“It’s depressing…I just want a burger and beer.”
Sam also talked about the enthusiastic fans that come with the franchise. One of the most memorable moments of the book series comes from Finnick, who tries to distract the character Katniss (played by Jennifer Lawerence) throughout training. At one point Finnick seductively asks Katniss if she would like a sugar cube.
“That was the most scariest moment of my life. I’m on Twitter and so many people have been like, ‘Don’t mess this up or we will kill you'”
We’ll have a long wait till November to find out eh?
THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE is set to be released in November.
