Like it or not, you always know what you’re going to get with a Jason Statham action flick. Director Taylor Hackford’s PARKER appears to be be no different as the British beefcake takes on the title role based on the classic series of novels from Donald E. Westlake (writing as Richard Stark) to feature the iconic antihero.
The character has been brought to the big-screen a previous three times. Firstly by Lee Marvin in John Boorman’s awesome POINT BLANK (1967), then Robert Duvall in THE OUTFIT (1973) and Mel Gibson in PAYBACK (1999). All those efforts I loved so fingers crossed PARKER is just as gripping and enjoyable, although another three new posters of a fairly unimaginatively similar designs doesn’t bode well. Check out the fun-looking trailer HERE if you missed it.
PARKER co-stars Jennifer Lopez, Michael Chiklis, Clifton Collins Jr., Wendell Pierce, Nick Nolte and arrives in cinemas 25th January.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
