Whilst most horror remakes have us quaking with fear at just how much (and usually how badly) our genre faves will be pillaged for a quick box-office buck, last years Comic-Con threw up quite a surprise with the first footage of Fede Alvarez’ EVIL DEAD retread. The intense and grisly teaser trailer had all the hallmarks of a homage to the franchise, while feeling refreshing, creepy and genuinely shocking at the same time. Fingers crossed the added bonus of having the original director Sam Raimi, with longtime producing partner Robert Tapert and Ash himself – the legendary Bruce Campbell – all involved behind-the-scenes, will assure a quality upgrade!
EVIL DEAD will demonically possess moviegoers from the 12th April with a cast that includes Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Elizabeth Blackmore, Lou Taylor Pucci and here is the latest and full-length red band trailer. Groovy!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
