Gareth Evans Tweets Some Info For ‘The Raid’ Sequel ‘Berandal’

the-raidOne of last year’s most exciting and action packed films, THE RAID, became such a hit that a sequel was pretty much inevitable. The Welsh director of the Thai martial arts extravaganza, Gareth Evans, has now taken to Twitter to give us 2 bits of information on the sequel titled BERANDAL, including when the film starts shooting.

Ok Raid 2 tidbit, we start shooting on January 19th and the first scene takes place 2hrs after the first film ends.

Only two hours after the events of the first film? Surely these guys need a rest. Who knows where the film will go from there, but Evans has expressed his wishes to include car chases and to make the film much bigger than before. Speaking to Collider, Evans said he wants to:

bring car chase elements to it as well. So we have like a cool fight scene where you go inside a car, fighting against four people as it’s speeding along a one-way.

And with a tripled budget from $1 million to $3 million I’m sure he’ll be able to stretch that cash pretty darn far.

His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies.
