With an original US release date of 15th March 2013 (5th April in the UK), it’s always a little worrying when a film is pushed back…by 7 months! News has surfaced that the Kimberly Peirce remake of Brian De Palma’s CARRIE has been moved from a spring release to a more suitable Halloween date.
Sony Pictures announced yesterday that they had decided to move the US release to 18th October, but no reason was given. Could there be trouble in post-production paradise? Or could it simply be that the film doesn’t really scream Easter chicks and baby animals? A rearranged UK date hasn’t been announced, but I’m guessing it’ll be around the same time period. Unfortunately, CARRIE fans, you’ll have to wait a little longer. However, we can whet your appetite with a newly-surfaced poster, featuring the 2013 version of Carrie (Chloe Grace Moretz) covered in blood, giving us a subtle glimpse into what we are in for (ignore the old US release date!).
CARRIE co-stars Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Gabriella Wilde, Portia Doubleday and Alex Russell.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
